 A TRUE SON OF ILE-IFE

Engr. Toye Marcus Adedini MBA, COREN, seasoned technocrat, erudite and patriotic Nigerian is a true son of Ile-Ife. Not only is his father from Akogun Compound of Arubidi, Ile Ife, his mother hailed from Látalè Atàrekelà compound of the same city. His early tutelage was all done in Ife, having attended The Apostolic Pry School, Okesoda, Ife before proceeding to Ife Anglican Grammar School, Arubidi, Ife. Having been so rooted in Ife and its environs, Engr  Marcus began to develop a deep love for the progress of his community during those lean years in Ife. For not only did he grow up to see a community in need of renaissance, the cry of this ancient city and environs for conscientious indigenes with deep love for its development was so glaring to the young Toye Adedini. Over the years, Toye Adedini has studied the yearnings of his Ife Federal Constituency and has been able to identify the solutions to the basic and general needs of his beloved homeland. He has realized that for this constituency and its people to get to the Promised Land, they need a very vibrant, forceful and effective voice in the Federal Parliament who can truly meet their aspirations. It is in this light that this hardworking and patriotic son of Ife is offering his services to his beloved people.

THOROUGH PROFESSIONAL

In a society in dire need of true intellectuals at the National Assembly, a major bane of the nation’s political space since return to civil rule in 1999, the advent of Engr. Toye Marcus Adedini is like the classical case of a Daniel coming to judgement. A graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso where he bagged a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) in addition to a Post Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering (Structure Option), Engr. Adedini has never relented in pursuing higher knowledge since he obtained an HND in Civil Engineering from Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin. Thus,                                               in an era where most of those we elect into public offices are inadequately educated and thereby not intellectually equipped for the demands of such positions, Toye Adedini is one of the exceptions. He's a registered civil  engineer with The council for the regulation of engineering in Nigeria(COREN) , Member Nigeria Society of Engineers (MNSE) and Member institutions of Civil Engineers. 

IMPECCABLE WEALTH OF EXPERIENCE

Adedini is bringing more than 15 odd years of professional experience on the table. Not only is he a technically competent/qualified Civil Engineer who has operated at the highest levels of professional competence, Adedini is a task-oriented workaholic whose commitment and hard work have been of immense value to all the organizations where he has worked. Imbued with excellent inter-personal and communications skills, sound planning and organizational capabilities including adaptable and flexible team-work qualities, Adedini is a well-organized planner and scheduler who is resilient and thorough, a completely detached and unemotional completer-finisher. This quality of accomplishment will surely be handy as he discharges his legislative duties at the House of Representatives when your graciously elect him. 

An immaculate record-keeper, energetic, loyal and determined team-player, Adedini’s wealth of professional experience, after his mandatory National Youth Service at the Polytechnic, Ibadan includes the post of Project Manager (Civil & Structural Eng.) at Dangote Petrochemical refinery , Ibeju Lekki, Lagos where he helped the popular company to set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and all general  engineering issues associated with discipline, preparing design specifications for concrete foundation and steel design, project control, management and resourcing. He also doubled as a coordinator of all consultants, contractors, subcontractors and other statutory bodies working with Dangote, ensuring maximal adherence to project time, quality, cost and budget among many other functions. Apart from the tour of duty at Ikeja, Adedini’s work at Dangote extended to managing and maintaining all the facilities of the whole staff quarters at the Obajana Plant in Kogi State.OK 

Beyond Dangote, Adedini also had a stint between October 2009 and December 2010 as Regional Head, Property Management & Service (Southwest Region) of Intercontinental Bank Plc, where he managed the 60 branches of the bank in the region.  This was after he had served in the same bank as Project Manager (Branch Development Dept.) from July 2006 to September 2009. Among some of the high points of his time at Intercontinental Bank Plc was his Supervision of a 1000-seater auditorium & 120 beds space hostel built by the bank and donated to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, Ondo State, supervision of the four-storey Southwest Regional Office of the bank, Ring Road, Ibadan and the supervision of the six twins duplexes at Bolaji Carew Estate, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos financed by the bank. This is not to mention his time, between February 2003 and June 2006 as the Project Engineer of Intercontinental Properties Limited, a subsidiary of Intercontinental Bank Plc where he ensured that works complied with design and specifications among other salient duties.

A CONFIDENT PROFESSIONAL

In a recent interview, this thorough professional gives more insight into his wealth of experience in Civil engineering: “I have operated with diversified domain projects in Civil Engineering ranging from medium to large scale industries which gave me an in depth understanding for handling various domain areas in Civil Engineering. I have also handled various critical and challenging projects from design stage to implementation stage and ensured that the projects gets implemented as per specification in stipulated time with quality. Having been equipped with expertise in various latest engineering tools and techniques, cost evaluation techniques and tools which I applied in my professional career to produce cost-effective solutions for the organization I worked with, I can handle high pressure environments with ease and open mind and also a good team player.” I have efficient communication skill to present my points precisely to listeners. 

ADEDINI’S FIVE-POINT AGENDA

Many individuals and organizations have at different fora attested to the great qualities of Engr. Adedini. In a recent interview where he was asked to confirm if he was truly contesting for the position of Member, Federal House of Representatives for Ife Federal Constituency, Engr. Adedini boldly affirmed his intention. He used the opportunity to reel out his manifesto, particularly the five areas of his stewardship’s focus. According to Adedini, “What has really inspired me to contest for this position is deeply rooted in the believe that we are in a New Dawn. And that implies that my people deserve a Better Representation. I am contesting for the office of Member, House of Representatives, Ife Federal Constituency of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2019 because my people matter not only in Ife land, but also in Osun State and by extension, Nigeria. And because my people matter, I am under the moral compulsion to advance and promote their welfare and prosperity. And, that, for sure, is my social contract with them. 

To achieve this noble and lofty obligation, Adedini has a very lofty objective. In his words, ‘I plan to achieve these goals through A Five Point Agenda which include: 

1. Facilitation of Qualitative Primary Health Care Delivery.

2. Simplifying and Boosting of Agricultural Activities.

3. Promoting the Values of our Culture and Tradition.

4. Showcasing of Our Tourism Potentials and 

5. Improving the Standard of Education within and outside the Ife Federal Constituency axis.

Even before the anticipated election, Engr. Toye Adedini has been doing a lot for the progress of his people in the constituency. Apart from several poverty alleviation programmes, especially among the less privileged, which include free distribution of foodstuff and purchase of JAMB forms to constituents in all the 4 LGAS and Area Office  for indigent indigenes, Engr. Adedini has set up a think-tank to address the issue of under development. He has been working with this body to see to the provision of agricultural equipment, food infrastructure, jobs, education and adequate industrialization of the constituency. He has also contributed to the alleviation of the suffering of aged citizen by working with others to provide rehabilitation Health centres. One other area of philanthropic intervention by this patriotic Ife citizen is the formulation of a strategy to help improve water supply infrastructure in the constituency and it is his firm belief that a seat at the House of Representatives would give him a greater opportunity to serve his people better. 

Born four decades ago , Engr. Adetoye Marcus Adedini is a youth with a good health on his side in the arduous task ahead and it is our hope that our people would give this massively competent aspirant the opportunity to serve and serve well the people of Ife Federal Constituency.
