His Royal Eminence,King Dr AbdulRahaman Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin has advised the government both at the state and federal level to reduce the cost of governance by reducing not only the number of political office holders but by also reducing their remuneration.

Dr Adedoyin was speaking against the backdrop of wide scale unemployment among Nigerian youths, which according to him is like sitting on a keg of gunpowder.

According to him, the money saved from the reduction of the cost of governance will go a long way in creating thousands of job opportunities for Nigerians directly or indirectly.

Nigeria currently has not less than 36 ministers, 36 Governors, 109 Senators, 360 House of Representative members with each state also having a sizable number of House of Assembly members, Commissioners as well as other political appointees all of whom are currently earning fat salaries and other emoluments.

He also advocated that tertiary institutions across the country should offer more of technical courses while entrepreneurial studies should be made compulsory for all students.

The philanthropist was also of the opinion that the government should encourage the youths by giving loans that can be monitored to interested young graduates to enable them establish small and medium scale enterprises.

According to him, it is compulsory for Oduduwa University students to undergo a 3-month entrepreneurial programme before they complete their degrees. This programme enables them to become job creators rather job seekers by the time they are through with their education as they are trained in different vocations of their choice at OUI College of Entrepreneur and Vocational Studies.

He added that the institution also encourages students of the University by making available to them interest free loans which enable them to start as soon as they graduate and are able to come up with viable business proposals.
